This Burlington, extruded aluminum “Silver Dome” Vista Dome passenger car was manufactured by Lionel in 1980. It was an un-catalogued “add-on” car to the earlier 5-car "Texas Zepher" set. These stunning polished aluminum cars (#9576-9580) were the 2nd issue of the long extruded aluminum cars in the Modern Era. This "add-on" car was the 6th and final car in that series. It is extruded aluminum and features die-cast trucks attached to a metal frame. It has dual operating magnetic knuckle couplers and is illuminated with passenger silhouettes in the windows. The car is in "factory fresh" condition (i.e. "Mint", "brand new", "never been on the tracks", no "wheel marks") It was offered in a special issue white Lionel windowed boxes, touting the features of the "Burlington Texas Zephyr set". This original boxes come with the car and is in like new condition with the only flaws being some scuffs and nicks commensurate with its age.
