This is "THE" set that led to all of the others and it is still the very best! The graphic are the biggest, most colorful and most detailed! Each car also has the "Face of Mickey" and that classic signature line "Walt Disney's" Mickey Mouse Express. Each car depicts a Disney classic. The set was manufactured by Lionel in 1977-78, with many of the cars "un-catalogued" which accounts for the high individual prices on those cars today. The train is headed by a U36B "Mickey Mouse Express Diesel" and includes a 13 car train of Disney cars and a caboose. The diesel features die-cast, four-wheel trucks, with metal rails and a stamped metal chassis, a powerful Pullmor motor with traction tires, and interior lighting. This unit is in demand by collectors of both Lionel and Disney and is quite possibly the hardest diesel from the MPC era to find in perfect condition. The 13 cars are:
The #9183 Porthole caboose completes the set. The diesel and all the cars in the set are in "factory fresh" condition (i.e. "Mint", "brand new", "never been on the tracks or displayed"). They are “9.95” on a scale of “10”.
