This Northern Pacific GP-9 diesel is a non-powered “dummy unit” manufactured by Lionel in 1976. It matches the 6-8666 Northern Pacific powered GP-9 from the Northern Pacific “Limited Edition Service Station” boxed set manufactured by Lionel earlier in the same year. It features operating headlights, die-cast trucks and wheels, metal chassis, and self-centering couplers. It is in "factory fresh", Mint condition, “never-been-on-the –tracks”. It is sold here with all of the original paperwork, and its original red and white Lionel windowed box and is also in “crisp” Mint condition.
