Lionel 8665 GP-9 Bangor & Aroostook Diesel & Matching Caboose (#9176) - SOLD Price: $109.95 Mfg #: Lionel 6-8665, 6-9176 2013 Greenburg Price Guide: $170 (Mint) |
This "Bi-Centennial", Bangor & Aroostock GP-9 diesel and matching caboose were manufactured by Lionel in 1976. The Jeremiah O'Brien "Spirit of '76" diesel features die-cast, four-wheel trucks, with metal rails, a stamped metal chassis, powered by a powerful Pullmor motor with traction tires, and interior lighting. The red, white & blue paint scheme is an authentic reproduction of the B & A diesel & caboose that ran the rails of the Northeast back in 1976, the year of our country's 200th birthday. This is truly a collector's dream - there will never be another "bi-centennial" year, and over the past 30+ years these units are getting harder and harder to find. This pair has never been on the track, and there are no wheel marks or side scratches from the hand rails. The units are absolutely "factory fresh"! You will not find a better conditioned pair anywhere! The diesel and caboose was issued in a special box. That box comes with the pair and is in Like New condition with some scuffs commensurate with age being the only flaws. All of the original paperwork is included. |
