This Chessie GP-20 was manufactured by Lionel in 1974. In its 'hey-day" it was one of the most sought after little diesels of the 1980s and 90s. It features a powerful Pullmor motor, self-centering knuckle couplers, operating headlights, transformer controlled forward/neutral/reverse. The frame is heavy sheet metal and the trucks are die-cast. Nearly 40 years old, this unit is impossible to find in un-used condition. This piece is in "factory fresh" condition (i.e. "Mint", "brand new", "never been on the tracks or displayed"). The unit has been thoroughly inspected to insure there are NO "screw cracks" or "box rubs". The diesel was issued in a Lionel red & white windowed box that comes with the diesel, and is in near perfect condition, with a few scuffs and nicks as the only minor flaws.
