This Virginian SD-18, powered and dummy pair of diesels was manufactured by Lionel in 1980. Both units feature die-cast, six-wheel trucks, with metal rails and a stamped metal chassis. The powered unit features a powerful Pullmor motor with traction tires and interior lighting. The multi-colored prototypical Virginian graphics have remained very popular over the past 33+ years making these units very desirable, while at the same time being hard to find. Both the powered and the dummy units are in Mint condition (TCA, LCCA standards), "factory fresh" condition (i.e. "Mint", "brand new", "never been on the tracks or displayed"). There are absolutely NO marks, or scratches of any kind, and the units have been thoroughly inspected to insure there are NO "screw cracks" or "side-scratches" where the side rails sometimes come in contact with the plastic cab. The pair was issued in matching white Lionel boxes that are also in Like New condition, with a few scuffs and nick commensurate with their age. All of the original paper work is also included.
