This Santa Fe Dash 8-40B "Dummy" (Non-powered) was manufactured by Lionel in 1993. It was made to compliment its "powered" counterpart (#18206) made 3 years earlier in 1990 as part of Collector Set #11713 (also available for sale on this site). It is hard to find now, separate from that powered unit. It features dual die-cast four wheel trucks, working headlights, illuminated number boards, metal chassis & handrails, operating knuckle couplers in the front and rear and a detachable snow plow. This diesel is in "factory fresh" condition (i.e. "Mint", "brand new", "never been on the tracks or displayed"). It was issued in an orange & blue Lionel box. That box comes with this diesel and is also in Mint condition and contains all of the original paper work.
