This Rocky Mountain Special boxed set was manufactured by Lionel in 1977. It is a “never been run”, ready to run traditional set very rarely found in this condition. Please read on… The set is comprised of:
The set box describes/illustrates a “Huge 96 x 40 inch layout (9 curved/23 straight) with two switches”, and features two remotely operated O-27 switches, one left hand (Lionel 6-5121) and one right hand (Lionel 6-5122). Also included are two lighted siding bumpers, a remote uncoupling track, trainmaster transformer and a “trestle hump” to gravity-feed the freight cars into track sidings. The diesel and rolling stock all have never been run and are in factory fresh/Mint condition. The diesel features a powerful Pullmor motor, working headlight, metal wheels, handrails and chassis, and transformer controlled forward-neutral-reverse. The rolling stock features metal wheels & axles, and operating knuckle couplers at each end. The caboose is illuminated. The set box has scuffs and nicks commensurate with age, but is otherwise in Like New condition. Each set component comes in an individual box, and each of those individual boxes are in crisp/mint condition.
