This Northern Freight Flyer boxed set was manufactured by Lionel in 1983-85. It is a “never been run”, ready to run traditional set very rarely found in this condition. Please read on… The set is comprised of:

While the add-on accessories above (marked with an *-asterisk) are entry level components, what is special here is that they are unassembled kits, in their original plastic bags; and include the assembly instruction sheets. The diesel and rolling stock all have never been run and are in factory fresh/Mint condition. The diesel features dual motors, eight-wheel drive, interior lighting, metal wheels, handrails and chassis, and electronic forward-neutral-reverse. The rolling stock features metal wheels and operating knuckle couplers at one end. The coal dump car remotely dumps into a track side bin (included). The searchlight car has an operating light. The derrick car features a swiveling derrick and hook which cranks up and down. The set box has scuffs and nicks commensurate with age. One of the box corners has been repaired with clear tape.
