This SOO Line Set was manufactured by Lionel in 1993. It was one of the last "Service Station" sets made by Lionel. It is headed by a SOO Line GP-38 that features dual maintenance-free motors, electronic forward-neutral-reverse control (no annoying "buzz"), a diesel horn, operating headlight, illuminated number boards (w/black numbers), operating magnetic couplers at both ends, and metal chassis, handrails, wheels and axles. This GP-38 features two powered four wheel trucks each with two wheel traction tire drive. The diesel features very popular and prototypical SOO Line graphics. There are four freight cars and an illuminated caboose that comprise the balance of the set. By the numbers:
This set is factory sealed, and as such all components are in "factory fresh"/Mint condition. All of the freight cars feature all metal sprung trucks with metal wheels, magnetic operating knuckle couplers at both ends. The caboose is lighted and features all metal die-cast trucks with operating magnetic knuckle couplers at both ends. Within the outer set box each item is individually boxed in an orange Lionel box.
